The following FAQs will answer most of the questions about orders / customised orders, deliveries, payments, Export, installation and dismantling, and etc.
1. Why choosing Affordable Rack (AR)?
Before Affordable Rack enters the shelving market, the shops and businesses paid either ridiculous prices to the big players, or a fraction for the crap ones. We understand that most of the clients need the good quality shelvings which are reasonably priced. That’s why our business is growing bigger and bigger over the years.
Our Directors visit the factories on a regularly basis, and our suppliers are the top 3 manufactories in the area, which not only have the strictest quality control systems, but also bring many new products to the markets each year. As a result, you may see that AR has new product lines each year.
2. What’s AR products’ ranges?
We do retail shelving, supermarket shelving, display shelving, slatwall systems, warehouse racks, pallet racking, material handling trolleys, shopping baskets, fruit and vegetable stands, checkout counters, prongs and other accessories.
3.How AR makes their shelving and racking “affordable”
AR sells directly to the clients, we don’t have big overhead, we own our own warehouses, we buy big and you save.

5. What’s your office hours and address?
Generally, our office hours are 9:30 – 16:00 weekdays, but we may be able to open at 9am or stay to 5pm, please check with us. Weekends and public holidays are closed. Our physical address is 14E Vega Place, Albany, Auckland 0632. Our postal address is Po Box 533, Silverdale 0944.
6. Can you hold the products for us if we need the products a few weeks later?
We can hold the products for you once a deposit is paid, normally 15% of the invoice amount.
7. Can we do customised orders, like particular sizes and colours?
Yes, AR can do customised sizes and colours if you don’t need them immediately, please talk to us.
8. Can we combine the freight if buying more than one?
It depends on the measurement of the products. Small items like prongs may be able to. Basically the more you buy, the less freight you pay per unit.
9. How do I make payment?
You can pay by internet banking, Eftpos, Cheque or cash. There is 2% surcharge if you pay by credit card (Visa or Master only).
10. How long can I expect the delivery after the payment is made?
Normally AR will dispatch your order within 1-2 working days after the payment is clear, and they will arrive 1-2 working days for north island main cities, and around 3 working days for south island main cities.
11. Can I place an order if I am outside of New Zealand?
Yes, you can. AR had exported to Tonga, Fiji, Cook Island and etc. Normally AR send the orders to Auckland Airport Oaks, your freight forwarders arrange the rest.
12. Are you able to do a free quote if I send you the layout of the shop or warehouse?
Yes, AR can do a free quote based on the layout.
13. Do you do second hand shelving and racking?
No, we don’t at moment. AR found out that some of the second hand shelvings in the market (less quality as well) are even more expensive than our new ones. Why buying second hands if you can buy new at better prices?
14. Do you do installation in Auckland and outside of Auckland?
At moment, AR does installation for Auckland area only at reasonable rates. Please contact us for more information.
15. If our rackings are not from AR, do you do installation or dismantling or moving the racking from one warehouse to another warehouse?
Normally we do. Please contact us to discuss.
16. What’s the difference of a starter bay and an addon bay.
A starter bay is make of 2 uprights with beams or shelves, an addon bay is made of 1 upright with beams or shelves. A starter bay is free standing, you can place it anywhere. An addon bay can’t stand alone by itself, it has to be joined to a starter bay. 1 row of shelving will need 1 set of starter bay + n sets of addon bays.
